Winter Swim Program

The Greenbriar Dolphins Swim Team has a Winter Swim Program available to younger summer swim team members who are not currently participating in a year-round swim club program. It offers the opportunity to be in the water year-round and continue to work on stroke development. The program runs from the weekend after Labor Day through the weekend before Memorial Day. The sessions are 1 hour long and typically on Sunday evenings. Registration will open in August after the exact time slot has been determined.

Due to high demand, Winter Swim will be limited to swimmers who were age 10 or younger as of the current summer season and who are not participating in a year-round club swim program. Swimmers must have a valid time in at least one stroke and previous winter swim and summer swim team participation will be taken into consideration. All swimmers must be able to independently swim 25m as shallow lanes are not guaranteed. All eligible families will have the opportunity to indicate their interest in participating and slots will be prioritized based on meeting the previously stated criteria. If spots still remain, eligibility will be expanded. Look for more information in early August.

For older swimmers, the Winter Swim Program offers the opportunity to earn volunteer hours or paid wages for coaching the younger swimmers. Volunteer coaches must be at least 12 years old and paid coaches must be at least 16 years old. If interested in coaching, please send an email to [email protected].
